TRICEL NERO RANGE - STORMWATER MANAGEMENT
Tricel Rigofill - Stormwater storage system
OVERVIEW
The Tricel Rigofill is a polypropylene storage/infiltration module designed for stormwater storage solutions. It includes half elements that can be assembled on-site as full blocks, or half elements combined with roof slabs for half block configurations. Sidewall grids are included depending on the module’s placement within the storage or infiltration system.
A key feature of the Rigofill module is its cross-shaped inspection tunnel, which allows comprehensive access in two axes. This design facilitates thorough inspection and maintenance, ensuring efficient management of stormwater systems.
Introduction
The Rigofill ST full block consists of two half elements designed for on-site installation and achieves a void ratio exceeding 96%. It is a part of the Nero Range.
The storage/infiltration unit features a cross-shaped inspection tunnel tailored for the use of automotive dollies. This design enables comprehensive inspection of both the effective drainage surface and the entire system volume, including all statically significant bearing-type fixtures.
Rigofill ST storage/infiltration systems, when combined with Quadro Control, are specifically engineered to meet stringent final acceptance inspections and undergo repeated assessments by professionals.
These systems are suitable for installation at moderate depths, up to 4 meters, and can be placed beneath trafficked areas capable of supporting loads up to HGV 60.

Attenuation crates – Installation images
In July 2024, a new residential development of 12 to 13 houses, required an efficient stormwater management solution.
Due to the extensive car park area at the front of the estate, a reliable rainwater retention and attenuation system was crucial to meet the planning permit requirements.
The project included installing a 120m³ stormwater system, designed to store and gradually release rainwater into the drainage network using geocellular attenuation crates, ensuring the area remains safe and operational during periods of heavy rainfall.

Frequently Asked Questions
HOW IS INTEGRATED INSPECTION SHAFT FOR RIGOFILL ?
The QuadroControl ST-B system shaft is designed to seamlessly integrate into modular block structures measuring 0.80 meters in both length and width. It serves multiple functions, including as an inspection shaft or ventilation point for the system, particularly effective when equipped with shaft covers featuring ventilation openings.
The assembly includes half elements that can be effortlessly installed on-site. For a full block shaft setup, a cone is utilized, while a roof slab is employed for a half block shaft configuration. The inclusion of a sidewall grid varies based on its placement within the storage or infiltration module, ensuring optimal functionality for different applications.
HOW ARE RIGOFILL TANKS DELIVERED ?
Rigofill ST modules are efficiently delivered stacked on pallets measuring 1.60 meters by 0.80 meters. Each pallet contains 68 half elements, sufficient for assembling 34 modules. Typically, the factory stacks two pallets on top of each other for shipment.
In addition to the main modules, sidewall grids, supporting grids, and roof slabs (required for half blocks) are packaged separately on individual pallets. This packaging approach ensures organized delivery and facilitates efficient on-site assembly of the Rigofill ST modules.
COMPLIANCE WITH EN 17152-1
EN 17152-1 introduces the first-ever product standard for storage and infiltration modules across Europe, marking its inception in November 2019. This milestone was accompanied by the establishment of test standards for both short-term compressive strength (EN 17150) and long-term compressive strength (EN 17151).
This development is significant as it allows for the evaluation and comparison of long-term compressive strength using a standardized European test methodology for the first time.
Over time, it is anticipated that this standard will gradually replace national approvals or serve as the foundational framework for test requirements in obtaining regulatory approvals across European countries.
WHY DO WE SAY THAT TRICEL RIGOFILL HAS A MODULAR DESIGN ?
Rigofill storage and infiltration systems provide exceptional design flexibility, featuring minimal constraints on length and width. The square 800 mm block layout facilitates seamless adaptation to virtually any configuration. With block heights of 660 mm for full blocks and 350 mm for half blocks, these systems can be constructed in various sizes to accommodate both single-layer and multiple-layer configurations.
This adaptability allows for easy customization to meet specific on-site requirements. In areas with high groundwater levels or low permeability soil, shallow-depth systems are preferred for effective water management.
Conversely, in soils with good permeability, taller and denser systems offer advantages and can be constructed accordingly. This approach ensures maximum utilization of available space while meeting the project’s stormwater management needs effectively.
HOW TO INSPECT A TRICEL RIGOFILL ?
CCTV inspection using advanced technology is the optimal method for assessing the condition of systems like Rigofill ST modules. This approach allows for thorough examination during final acceptance or subsequent evaluations, ensuring confidence and safety for authorities, engineers, construction firms, customers, and operators.
Rigofill ST modules are equipped with a cross-shaped tunnel design, which enhances camera accessibility and facilitates flushability in two axes. This unique feature enables comprehensive inspection and maintenance in four dimensions, ensuring all aspects of the system are thoroughly examined and maintained as needed.
