How does a Tricel Novo UK work?
Stage 1: the primary settlement chamber
First stage of the sewage treatment plant process is in the first chamber. In the primary settlement chamber, the anaerobic breakdown takes place and separates the liquid from the solids.
Stage 2: the aeration chamber
In this second stage of the sewage treatment, natural bacteria are being activated in the filter media. They are feeding themselves on the waste whilst the liquid flows slowly through the next chamber. These natural agents are sustained with air which is coming from an air-blower or compressor situated on the unit’s top area and a diffuser located inside the tank, at the bottom.
Stage 3: final settlement chamber
In this final stage of sewage water treatment, the liquid is coming from the aeration chamber. Suspended sludge consisting of bacteria is carried with the liquid into the settlement chamber and settles to the bottom of the chamber. It will then be pushed back to the primary settlement chamber through a continuous sludge return system. The now treated liquid finally meets the environmental requirements.

The compression moulding process is one of the most technologically advanced features available on the market. Components are manufactured under heat and high pressure. They have a competitive strength and durability over standard GRP tanks or PE tanks.
SMC is a unique material in the sewage treatment industry with Tricel SMC tanks operating in some of the harshest climatic conditions for over 50 years with no defects.
Tricel’s ceramic diffuser will last twice as long as all standard competitors rubber equivalents. It is a cost-saver in both call out fees and replacement parts.
No concrete backfill for installation on most sites which allows you to save up to €400 over lower quality GRP/plastic competitors.
There are no moving parts or pumps in the plant which is ensuring reliable operation during the treatment process and minimal running costs.
Tricel Novo plants are designed with a shallow invert to limit both installation and time costs.

Homeowners can themselves perform quick checks regularly:
- All vents should be checked to make sure they are not blocked or obscured.
- Ensure the air blower is working by listening for a gentle hum when standing beside the plant.
- Inspect pipework for blockages if necessary
Yearly maintenance by a qualified professional
A Tricel Novo plant will require a full annual check to guarantee the plant is still running correctly. During routine servicing, the following items are checked (if applicable):
- Sludge return
- Functionality of blower and/or pump
- Pump pressures
- Pump filters are replaced
- Pump Diaphragm
- Alarm
- Ventilation function tested
- Diffuser monitored to check for dispersion of air
- Tricel covers and locks
- Manifold adjusted
