In September 2022, a Tricel Novo UK12 & Puraflo modules were installed at Torrisdale Castle, Campbelltown. This Estate was in need of a solution for their eco-bothies sewage treatment Scotland.

THE CHALLENGE
Torrisdale Castle estate in the picturesque peninsula of Kintyre in Western Scotland. The property rents out different types of holiday lets and was in the search for a solution for the treatment of their wastewater. In order to handle fluctuating loads, they required a Sewage Treatment product with a really good effluent quality. One condition is that he product also needs to be able to deal with the varying loads from high season to low season.
The Installation
The Xoli team advised the customer that Tricel is the best option to provide full supply and fit of products to ensure warranty coverage. A local contractor was in charge of the Novo tank installation to keep costs down. In addition, Xoli took charge of the Puraflo system installation and in charge of the tank commissioning for this sewage treatment Scotland project.
The installation and follow-up
The delivery of that products was on time and in perfect condition. This project was completed in 2022, and Xoli has since been back to service earlier this year.
TRICEL SOLUTION
The solution we used : Tricel Novo UK12 & Puraflo modules
A Tricel Novo sewage treatment plant was selected for this sewage treatment in Scotland, due to its reliability, ease of installation, and low maintenance requirements. As a submerged aeration sewage treatment plant, the Tricel Novo uses proven fixed bed technology for its own treatment. It is designed for domestic and light commercial applications.
Due to the customer requirements for a high effluent quality, three Puraflo modules were added. Our Tricel Puraflo is based on a bio-fiber peat filter system, which is one of the most environmentally friendly wastewater treatment systems available. For a higher level of effluent filtration, it is ideal to be added as a tertiary treatment system after a sewage treatment plant (like the Novo).
Callum – Tricel’s sales area manager – discussed Xoli’s plans with them and offered advice where necessary. All products were delivered on time & in pristine condition, so there were no delays in the construction process.

The customer is over the moon with how well the system works and praised the regular maintenance by an accredited Tricel engineer.
