Glen Nevis Youth Hostel is located just outside Fort William and at the foot of the UK’s highest mountain Ben Nevis. This case study is a commercial wastewater treatment plant in scotland.

The hostel was going through major refurbishment works (brand new hostel) and in need of a new sewage treatment solution to cater for the staff and guests. The hostel’s facilities include private en-suite rooms as well as shared accommodation, a self-catering kitchen, a laundry room and an open-plan living room.
Ogilvie Construction was the chosen building contractor to manage the new build project. With more than 70 years experience in the construction industry in Scotland, this family owned company has a proven record of excellent working relationships with its clients.
Ogilvie Construction sourced the Tricel commercial sewage treatment plant through Keyline.
Keyline is one of the UK’s leading specialist of civil and drainage solutions. With more than 60 branches in the UK, they provide a wide range of building materials in stock to ensure customers receive products to complete projects on time.
Finally, Tricel sourced Xoli Ltd to commission the commercial wastewater treatment plant once the installation was completed. Xoli are experts in wastewater treatment and drainage industry. They can provide guidance regarding sewage treatment solutions as well as servicing a wide range of commercial products.
The Installation
The beginning of the year 2018 was particularly tricky for the building industry as site conditions were less than ideal. Indeed, the year started particularly cold and wet. Winter lasted longer than one would have imagined which led to many delayed projects.
The installation of the 100 pop Tricel Optima sewage treatment plant was also affected by the weather and poor site conditions. Working alongside Keyline and hand in hand with Ogilvie Construction, we were able to delay the delivery and original installation date until the site was ready. We kept the Optima wastewater treatment plant in stock until it was required on site.
TRICEL SOLUTION
Tricel supplied a suitable 100 pop Tricel Optima commercial wastewater treatment plant to cater for the wastewater treatment requirements of Glen Nevis Hostel and site conditions. We also offered technical support and dealt directly with the building contractor, ensuring peace of mind to our customer. Finally, once the installation was completed, we also organised for a wastewater specialist, Xoli Ltd, to do the commissioning of the system.
