THE CHALLENGE
ADP environmental services Ltd reached out to us for a residential project that they had in Yorkshire back in May 2020. ADP Environmental Services Ltd offers a full range of services including installation and maintenance.
For this project, the team faced challenges, around the access to site which made our tank particularly suitable thanks to the narrow width of the tank at only 1640mm wide. The access to the back of the house where the sewage treatment plant was to be installed was very limited and once in the back garden, we had to work around the tight access restrictions.
The Installation
In order to minimize the damage to the lawn, ADP started installing lawn protection. As usual, the goal was to leave the site with minimum impact. Tricel delivered the system to the site where it was unloaded via our professional Moffett delivery service from the truck on to the nearest hardstanding area.
ADP installed a Tricel Novo 8 population system with an integrated pumped outlet which saved the need to install a separate pump chamber and reduced the size of the excavation which was key to meeting the tight space constraints on this site. Our wastewater treatment plant also has been prioritised because of its lightweight (easy to transport and install), compact form and its small footprint. It is also low maintenance, low running costs and a reliable product. We advised our customers for the size of the system using the British Water flows and loads guide.
Regarding the risers:
As the tank had to be located deep into the ground – see photo – 500mm risers were used to allow access to the desludging pipe as well as the compressor area.

The Tricel Novo submerged aeration sewage treatment plant is suitable for domestic and light commercial or communal applications.
The plant offers its own treatment system while using simple proven fixed bed technology.
