How a septic tank works, step by step
- The sewage water enters the tank, where the solids will settle at the bottom of the unit. A small amount of anaerobic breakdown occurs, offering a first purification process.
- Once separated from the solids, the liquid and the lighter waste material (scum) can move into the second treatment area.
- Once it has been the case, the effluent exits the septic tank for its final improvement as it penetrates through a percolation area.
Servicing your septic tank (desludging)
Every year, you must desludging your Tricel Vento to avoid solids from rising to the outlet pipe and risking polluting the ground. It can also cause flooding in the percolation area. As a homeowner and a septic tank owner, it is your responsibility. You will be held accountable from a legal point of view.
