UK Road Safety Week 2019
Road Safety Week is the UK’s biggest annual road safety event. It is an initiative led by Brake, a road safety charity.
This year, Road Safety Week 2019 (18-24 November) will be all about “Stepp[ing] up for Safe Streets.” It is the perfect opportunity for the UK’s road users to learn about the fantastic latest design-led solutions that will allow them to make healthier and safer journeys every day around the country.
Safe journeys can only happen when road transport networks get designed so that human error can be prevented, thus avoiding deadly accidents. Many safety systems have been built up over the years: speed rumble strips, trench covers, kerb ramps.
Every 20 minutes, someone is killed or seriously injured on British roads. So, it’s essential to raise awareness and boost engagement around road safety via this type of large scale events.
To support road safety activities in the UK, Brake has also compiled a lot of road safety interactive sources. Thanks to them, you can get your point across in an easy and fun way!
